Create a label for each of your six subjects (Chemistry, English A, Math AA, History, and so on), plus one for TOK and one for CAS if you’re tracking those separately. Since labels are unlimited and free on every plan, tag every homework and small task with the right subject label. This is your day-to-day filter, use it to see exactly what’s due in one subject without digging through everything else.
This is where projects earn their keep. Set up a dedicated project for your Extended Essay, and a separate project for each subject’s Internal Assessment. Each project gets its own color, description, and resource folder, so all the drafts, source material, and supervisor notes tied to that one piece of work live in a single container.
Remember the free plan caps out at 3 projects. If you’re running an EE plus multiple IAs at once, that limit gets tight fast, so this is one of the clearer cases where upgrading to Silver (10 projects) pays for itself during the IB1/IB2 crunch.
If you’re on Silver or above, use shared projects to actually communicate through Dozy instead of chasing emails. Share your Extended Essay project with your supervisor so they can see your task progress and deadlines directly, updates move in real time as you advance work, so there’s no “did you see my last email” back and forth.
The same applies to your science group project. Share the project with your lab partners so everyone sees the same task board, the same deadlines, and the same resource folder, instead of five people keeping five different versions of what’s been done. Collaborator limits scale by plan: Silver gets 5 collaborators, Gold gets 30, Diamond is unlimited, so pick your plan based on how many people actually need access.
Inside each EE or IA project, use the resource folder to keep your sources, drafts, supervisor feedback, and rubrics in one place. This is what actually saves you during crunch weeks, no more digging through email attachments the night before a draft is due. Storage scales with plan too: 50 MB on Silver, 1 GB on Gold, 2 GB on Diamond.
On Gold, connect your existing school or personal calendar (Google or Microsoft) directly into Dozy, or build your calendar natively inside the app instead. Once your EE deadlines, IA checkpoints, and mock exam dates all sit in one calendar view, you get a single monthly grid instead of cross-referencing your school portal and your phone separately.
Diamond students should set their calendar up the exact same way, connect your third-party calendar or build it inside Dozy. The extra step on Diamond is entering an honest time estimate for every homework, IA task, or EE writing session. Pro tip: we recommend overshooting to avoid extra work hours
Once you’ve logged that estimate consistently, Dozy’s Smart Calendar uses it to automatically slot your work into real gaps in your week. Given how unevenly IB workload spikes around IA deadlines and mock exam season, this is the plan tier where the estimate habit pays off the most, it’s the difference between guessing you have time and Dozy showing you exactly where the time actually is.
